1. Who we are

Own the Works, Inc. (“Own the Works”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website at owntheworks.com and the Own the Works field-service platform. Our principal place of business is in Texas, United States. You can reach us at hello@owntheworks.com or (555) 000-0000.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

Contact and lead forms: name, business name, email address, phone number, and any message you submit. Phone numbers collected through forms are subject to TCPA consent requirements described in Section 6.
Booking requests: service address, preferred appointment window, and description of the issue.
Account creation: email address and password (hashed; we never store plaintext passwords).

2.2 Information collected automatically

Log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps.
Cookies: session cookies for authentication; analytics cookies (see Section 5). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
UTM parameters: campaign, source, medium, and keyword parameters appended to URLs are captured and stored with lead records for attribution purposes.

To respond to inquiries and schedule service appointments
To send transactional communications (booking confirmations, invoices, appointment reminders)
To send marketing communications, where you have opted in
To improve the platform and website through aggregated analytics
To comply with legal obligations

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers: Stripe (payments), Twilio (SMS), Postmark (email), Google Maps (address validation). Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use first-party analytics to understand how visitors use the site. We do not use Google Analytics or Meta Pixel by default. If you are a Own the Works customer who has enabled Google Tag Manager, your site's cookie behavior is governed by your own privacy policy and GTM configuration.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies will not affect your ability to read the site, but will prevent session-based features (booking, account login) from working.

6. TCPA and telephone communications

If you provide a phone number through any form on this site, you will be presented with explicit, unbundled consent language before submission. Consent to receive autodialed calls or text messages is never a condition of purchase. You may opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. You may opt out of calls by requesting removal from our call list at hello@owntheworks.com.

We record the timestamp, IP address, and consent language version for each TCPA consent submission. These records are retained for a minimum of 5 years.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations. Lead records are retained for 3 years. Customer records are retained for 7 years (tax and accounting requirements). You may request deletion of your data at any time; we will comply within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. 9. Children

This site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have done so, contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post material changes to this policy with at least 14 days' notice before they take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
