Our commitment

Own the Works, Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We actively work to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and platform.

ADA web-accessibility litigation is an active and growing category in the home-services industry. We take this seriously not only as a legal matter but because accessible design is better design for everyone.

Conformance status

The Own the Works marketing site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some content does not fully conform to the standard.

All images have descriptive alt text or are marked decorative (aria-hidden)

All interactive elements are keyboard-reachable and have visible focus indicators

Color contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)

Form inputs have associated labels and error messages

Page language is declared in the HTML lang attribute

Navigation landmarks (header, main, footer, nav) are present on every page

Skip-to-content link is available on all pages

No content flashes more than 3 times per second

Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality

Spanish language version — available as a build option for Fleet and Multi-Location tiers; not included in the base marketing site

PDF documents — service agreement PDFs are not yet fully tagged; accessible HTML versions are available on request

Technical specifications

This website relies on the following technologies for conformance:

  • HTML5
  • CSS (Tailwind CSS 4)
  • JavaScript (React 19, Next.js 15 App Router)
  • WAI-ARIA 1.2 for dynamic content

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet meet all WCAG 2.1 AA criteria. We are actively working on the following:

  • Spanish language support for tenant builds (Fleet tier and above)
  • Tagged PDF versions of all downloadable documents
  • Enhanced screen-reader support for the interactive pricing calculator
